About
Sasha Zaitseva is a multidisciplinary artist from Donbass, Ukraine, now based in Paris, where she has lived in exile for over a decade. Drawing from her diverse heritage—half Russian, half Ukrainian—and her upbringing on the border of these two cultures, Sasha’s work explores themes of ethnicity, identity, globalization, and the interplay between personal and political narratives.
Sasha Zaitseva's art delves deeply into the essence of womanhood, examining the roles, energy, and identity of women through a lens shaped by her personal journey and the socio-political turbulence of Ukraine. Violence—whether social, psychological, or political—is a recurring motif, woven with a reflective analysis of cultural and personal trauma.
Sasha earned her master’s degree in Fine Arts in Paris in 2019, specializing in immersive installations. Since then, her work has been featured in exhibitions worldwide, including New York, Munich, and Paris. Recently, she has expanded her artistic practice to include theater, cinema, and performance art, further broadening her multidisciplinary approach.
